Hello! My name is Window Pane Membrane,
and I want to work for/with YOU!

I'm a hard working artist, gamedev, and musician
with an undying love for the surreal and wack.
Depending on what you're looking for, my expertise may vary, but I'm always looking to strengthen my abilities and mold new ones.

ART

I've been an artist for around 10 years now.
I primarily specialize in unorthodox character designs and a somewhat expressionistic style, but I also have experience working with abstract character designs and environments.
(see directly below for my townsfolk project for an example)

GAMES / 3D ART

I've been making games since early 2021 and I've loved every second of it, but it's also very evident I much prefer the artistic side to making games rather than the programming side, though all of my games are developed entirely by me and with the help of assets I've linked in the game files.
All of my games are low poly, low res callbacks to PSX and N64 graphics, partly for stylistic choices, majorly to make up for the ancient laptop I make all of my projects on.
The limitation gives me something to lean on, so I've leaned into it as much as I can and I've grown to love the look.
Working with less is both fun and economic!
All 3D models and textures are HOME GROWN or LOCALLY AND ETHICALLY SOURCED™
My most sucessful game to date is They Grew Lungs and Drowned, released May 6th of 2022.
My most recent game to date is Crab Trap Hobag, released July 4th of 2023.

MUSIC

Music is something I've never really worked on before making games, so in my mind and practice, they go hand in hand.
Because of this, a lot of my early early music references and influences come from old games.
RETROVARNISH (c.2021)
My absolute earliest musical attemps were made in LMMS, but the interface was too difficult to understand so I never made anything meaningful. I then found Bosca Ceoil which I fell in love with.

OLDIES (c.2022)
I started using FL Studio's free trial around this time, which restricted the amount of time I could realistically work on a project, making most of my projects very short.

NOIVOUX (c.2023)
This is around the time I started using audio samples in my work. This is also around the time I fully bought FL Studio, so I could work on projects continuously instead of in small segments at a time... So I could also remaster older tracks I had grown distasteful of!

COLLABORATIVE PIECES

ANIMATION

I had started animating small pixel projects through high school during my classes using Piskel on my school computer.
I discovered ENA around a year after the project had begun, and it immediately rekindled my love for pixel animation.
I begun animating again for a (now dead) project of mine called Impromptu Ballroom, which would have essentially mirrored ENA.
After that project was scrapped, I was left with countless animations I had made just waiting to be used, so I repurposed them for Crab Trap Hobag.
I fully intend to try to use a similar animation style in every game I create in the near future.
